Brighter Side

In this body of work, it was my mission to create an intimate and delicate portrayal of black men. With each image I intend to share an uplifting and positive viewpoint of this demographic, to combat the villainous depiction of them that is popularized in the media. Committed to an authentic representation of these men, they were given the space to interact with the camera however they were most comfortable. The innocence captured in my work exhibits a genuine exploration of the human spirit, and reflects the nature of these men. My photographs reflect the tenderness and nurturing spirit that I have experienced from black men and invites the audience to encounter them the same way.
